Suzie Balser

Suzie Balser

(Lorena Bobbitt)

Suzie is “Thrill”ed to be joining this final cast of Thriller where she is no stranger to the Thriller stage. She has performed in Thriller several times over the past 15 years. Suzie graduated from BYU with a BFA in Music Dance and Theatre where she performed as a Young Ambassador and won the Theatre Department’s award for Best Supporting Actress and an Irene Ryan Nomination for Ilona Ritter in She Loves Me.

Acting credits include Aheh in Sunfish at the New York ASCAP foundation musical theatre workshop with Stephen Schwartz, Stephanie in the New York production of Katie Thompson and Patrick Livingston’s R.R.R.E.D., Sophie in the Las Vegas production of Mamma Mia!, Nellie Forbush in Tuacahn’s South Pacific, Molly in The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Winnie Tate in Annie Get Your Gun, Laurie in Oklahoma!, Maude in Funny Girl, Mrs Wormwood in Matilda, Demeter in CATS and of course, Lorena Bobbitt in Odyssey’s Thriller.

In addition to the stage, Suzie can be seen in local and national commercials. In conjunction with performing Suzie has taught music, dance, and theatre around the country. She is currently an owner and Artistic Director at Utah’s own Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA). Thriller has been such a fun tradition for Suzie and her family.

She is excited to share the stage this season with her own little Zombies and Chucky dancers. The scariest things about Suzie include not loving pie, never seeing Wicked the Musical and her ability to avoid making dinner.

Thanks to her own little family of ghouls and goblins for all their support and to the Yeagers for all the memories!

Darla Day

Darla Day

(Director and Owner of Aeris Aerial Arts)

Darla Day is the Director and Owner of Aeris Aerial Arts in Sandy and Kaysville Utah. She’s been a professional and principal performer for 14 years with Cirque USA, J&D Entertainment, Cirque Du Soleil, Circus Chimera, Ke$ha, BYUtv, The Dallas Cowboys, Braun Productions, CES Vegas, Houston Opera, Cindy Lapaur, Celebrity Superbowl VIP parties, the David Tutera show, and more.

She has been director, aerial director, and creative director for global conventions with USANA, NUSKIN, New Age, Life Vantage, America First, Mountain America, Tahitian Noni, Xyngular, Younique, and more. She has been music video aerial director and creative director for Vocal Point, Sony, One Voice Children’s Choir, among others and Director and Creator of 90&9’s production of Fighter. Darla has been performing and working with Odyssey’s Thriller since 2012.

As it started with just her performing as a soloist, she is touched and amazed to see it has grown to include many more acts from her company. It changed the lives of the performers for the better and they are honored that Derryl would trust them for 10 years with the aerial acts.

Darla is the mama of 2 amazing boys and a darling and sassy baby girl. She and her husband Nik Day started a non-profit called 90&9 which promotes healthy living through the performing arts and was their reaction to a world darkening with the challenges of mental health. Together they wrote the show Fighter- a cirque style show about a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Darla will be continuing her career as a director and will be retiring as a performer with the close of Thriller. She wouldn’t have it any other way!
